Welcome to Ray Clark's website - Rayradio.co.uk
After many years in commercial radio I started to think about the BBC again, I'd last worked for them in 1972, in accounts ..this time i was hoping to go back as a radio presenter. It was Radio Cambridgeshire who came up with the offer of 13 weeks from April until August, covering Saturday afternoons during the summer break in the football season. It went well, they said nice things about me and offered me a regular early morning programe, starting at 5am with a daily commute into Cambridge for 4.30am. I was getting up at 2am ..but 6 months later I was presenting the afternoon show from 1pm until 4pm, far more sociable hours, I also covered breakfast during my happy days at BBC Cambs... and I had my photo taken for the station calendar - can you spot it?
ON THE ROAD:
Any chance to get out and meet people and I'll be there. One of the delights of Radio Cambs. was the number of outside broadcasts that I presented especially during my time on the afternoon show. With producers Katy and later, crazy Aussie Rory, we were always out around the county. Infact I was seldom in the studio.
